Discover Marine Life From A Unique Perspective

Displaying over 7000 marine animals in its built habitat of one million water gallons, the Newport Aquarium has been named the numero uno aquarium in the Midwest by the Zagat Survey's US Family Travel Guide in 2004. High-end technology is nothing new to the Newport Aquarium, which is a sophisticated marine facility based on the banks of Ohio River. The marine animals are displayed not in a single or few strewn well-placed tanks, but a creatively designed world replication, housing all specific animals within its rightful continent, ocean, and waterway.

The aquarium has over 70 exhibits and 14 galleries, which includes 5 interconnected acrylic tunnels spanning 200 feet in length. The underwater tunnels boast see-through floors, walk-around exhibits and a touch pool. The combination of everything provides an ideal atmosphere for both entertainment and education.

The Newport Aquarium exhibits and shows include Frog Bog, Penguin Encounters, Ohio Riverbank, Kroger Kingdom of Penguins, Dangerous and Deadly, Bizarre and Beautiful, Gator Bayou, Hidden Treasures of Rainforest Islands, Coral Reef, Jellyfish Gallery, Amazon Flooded Forest and of course Surrounded by Sharks. There more and every specific exhibit and show has interactive activities while under supervision. A unique behind-the-scenes tour is also available on a first-come, first-serve basis. This tour will provide an insight into what it takes to maintain a huge aquatic environment consisting of one million water gallons.

The fun-filled aquarium is open everyday and even has extended summer and holiday hours to allow visitors to enjoy to the maximum.
